Begonia subvillosa var. leptotricha

Sub-shrub species up to 1 m tall. Sub-rounded or slightly elongated winged leaves, glossy, slightly reddened on the underside. White or pinkish-white flowers, small but produced in large quantities almost all year round. Native to northeastern Argentina, southern Brazil and Paraguay. In nature it grows mostly on cliffs and in forests always in very shady areas. It therefore requires a very shady position and a soil with good drainage but rich in humus. Regular watering throughout the year. Not hardy. Potted plant 12 cm.
