This bulbous species is native to South America (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay). Leaves narrow, ribbon-like, evergreen, up to 30 cm in length. Flowers solitary, 7-8 cm across, orange-pink in colour. Well drained soil. Full sunshine or half shade. Hardy.
