Amaryllis belladonna Dark Pink

Bulbous species in summer rest. Bulb with a diameter of 5-10 cm. Ribbon-like leaves 30-50 cm long by 2-3 cm wide, deciduous in summer. Robust 30-60 cm long floral stem bearing at the apex up to 12 bell-shaped flowers with a diameter of 6-10 cm ofdark pink color with whitish base of the tepals. Flowering occurs after the first abundant rains of late summer-early autumn. Furthermore, flowering occurs only after a long period of summer drought. Native to South Africa (South-Western Cape Province) where it is found on low slopes and in lowlands in seasonally wet sites with clayey soils. Hardy. It adapts to all types of terrain but needs a position in full sun or partial shade. Do not water in summer. 1 bulb with a diameter of 2-3 cm.
