Tuberous species in summer vegetative rest. Hastate leaves, dark green with white veins, up to 35 cm long. Spathe color ranging from light green to light red to purplish; yellow spadix. Flowering occurs in spring. The plant enters into vegetation starting from the rains of late summer and then goes into rest in late spring (April-May). Hardy. Native species of the Aegean region, of the south-western part of the Anatolian peninsula and of Crete. In nature it grows in olive groves, on the edge of fields, in gorges and in ruderal environments between 0 and 600 (1000) meters. It prefers well drained soil and a semi-shaded position. Do not water in summer. Potted plant.
