Amorphophallus impressus

Winter decidous tuberous species. The tuber, discoid in shape, develops a single large leaf with a petiole up to 80 cm long and a palmatosette leaf blade. Spathe wide with wavy margin of brown-red color with whitish base, swollen in the basal part. Very long, reddish spadix. Native species of Tanzania and Malawi where it grows on rocks in riverine forests up to 500 m above sea level. It requires well-drained soil and a shaded position. This species goes dormant during the winter, so in this period it must be left dry and placed in a relatively warm place (above 7°C). During the vegetative period, however, water regularly.
