Begonia chuyunshanensis

Rhizomatous begonia with creeping rhizomes. Stems 40-85 cm tall, glabrous. Leaves ovate, asymmetric, 12-27 × 5-14 cm with chordate base, irregularly serrated margin and sharp apex. Pendulous inflorescences 5-16 cm long. Showy flowers made up of six slightly pink petals. The species grows in moist, shady forests between 500 and 1600 m in the southern part of the island of Taiwan. Not hardy. It prefers a shaded position and well-drained soil. Regular watering in summer but reduced in winter. Potted plant 12 cm.
