A clumping succulent species.
Haworthia herbacea is a small, low succulent that forms dense clusters of rosettes ranging in size from 35 mm to 80 mm in diameter. It typically grows deeply buried in the ground and has green, streaked, and spotted leaves covered with characteristic glassy spines. When very small, the leaves have a translucent appearance.
This species originates from South Africa (Western Cape Province) and grows among rocks, in stony soil, and in grassy areas.
It requires very well-drained soil and a partially shaded location. It requires regular watering in winter (let it dry thoroughly between waterings), but less frequent watering in summer (once a month).
Semi-hardy: it can withstand temperatures down to -5°C.
Bare-root plant.
