Paeonia daurica subsp. coriifolia Central Caucasus (Paeonia caucasica)

Species with fleshy roots deciduous in winter, up to 60 cm tall. Pinnate leaves with oblong leaflets of 12-18 x 8-12 cm. Solitary flowers with a diameter of 6-10 cm with 6-8 pink petals with a crown of yellow stamens at the base surrounding three glabrous carpels. Native to central and western Caucasus where it grows in forests, forest edges, short grass meadows and shrub thickets. It prefers a partially shaded position and well-drained soil. Hardy. Potted plant 16cm.
