A stoloniferous succulent species. Dark green leaves with lighter bands (which become blue as they age), arched and fan-shaped. It produces numerous aerial stolons, at whose apex new plants form, rooting as soon as they touch the ground. Spiciform inflorescences bear numerous whitish, slightly scented flowers that open at dusk. This species was donated to us by the gardeners of the Genoa Botanical Garden, who told us it was given to them by Lavranos himself, who claimed to have collected it in Madagascar. I find it very similar to Sanseviera suffruticosa and could perhaps be a form of it with shorter, more compact leaves. It requires very well-drained soil and a shady location. Water every 10-15 days during the growing season (approximately March to October), but leave dry in winter or water at most once a month if the environment is very hot. It also adapts well to living indoors. Not hardy. Cutting, bare-root plant, or potted plant.
