Deciduous tuberous species in winter. Leaves with petiole up to 150 cm long, and ovate-lanceolate blade, corded at the base, shiny green in color with visible veins and up to 75 cm long. Inflorescence shorter than the leaves consisting of a pink enveloping spathe with a white spadix approximately as long as the spathe inside. The species grows spontaneously in forests from south-west China to south-east Thailand, as a lithophyte on limestone rocks where it forms large colonies. It therefore requires very well-drained soil and a shaded position. Water regularly in the summer months but leave dry in the winter. Half-hardy. 14 cm potted plant.
