Species native to Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
Sub-clavate stems with showy, creeping teeth of a light green-grey color speckled with purple. Flowers with a diameter of 3-4 cm in a star shape, brownish-pink in color with white hairs on the margin. In nature it grows on granite soils, often sandy, in the shade of shrubs.
Requires well-drained soil and a location in partial shade. Water once every 7-20 days from March to October; dry in winter.
Not hardy.
