A clumping succulent species.
Red-brown stems, slightly tuberculous, clumping and creeping, up to 30 cm long. Star-shaped, slightly bell-shaped, upward-facing flowers, 3 cm in diameter, creamy yellow with reddish-brown spots. Triangular, densely papillose lobes.
A species native to Zimbabwe in mountainous habitats around 1,100 meters above sea level. It grows and produces its flowers in areas heavily shaded by perennial grasses on granite slopes.
Very well-drained soil and shaded location. Water approximately once every 7-20 days from March to October; in winter, keep dry and water only if the stems tend to dry out excessively.
Not hardy but can tolerate temperatures up to 5°C (41°F) if well-drained.
