A caespitose succulent species.

This species has short, squat, greenish-brown stems with tubercles ending in a threadlike appendage, giving the stems a hairy appearance. Its star-shaped flowers have elongated lobes, 1–5 cm in diameter, densely papillose, and are pale creamy yellow with dense red spots.

Native to South Africa: Cape Province (Western Cape, Eastern Cape). Plants grow primarily among rocks, under small xerophytic shrubs, in flat areas and at the foot of hills.

This plant prefers very well-drained soil and a location in partial shade or filtered shade. Water every 7–20 days during the growing season (approximately March to October), but leave dry in winter.

Not hardy.

Bare-root plant.
