Huernia macrocarpa var. penzigii

A clumping succulent.

Stems up to 20 cm long, light green, slightly tubercualted with short, pointed tubercles. Five-lobed, bell-shaped flowers, 2 cm in diameter, dark red, solitary or in more or less numerous clusters.

This species is native to Ethiopia and grows on granite rocks.

It requires a very well-drained soil and a location in partial shade or filtered light. Water every 7-20 days during the growing season (approximately March to October), but leave dry the rest of the year.

Not hardy.
