A clumping and creeping succulent species.

Stems are initially short and clumping, then elongate, creeping, or trailing, tending to take on reddish hues in winter. Flowers are 2-3 cm in diameter, light cream in color with fine dark red spots, and have five short lobes. The flowers develop at the base of the young stems.

A species native to eastern Zimbabwe and western Mozambique. Huernia volkartii var. repens is a mountain species that grows in moss on granite in the mist zone.

It requires very well-drained soil and a location in partial shade. Water every 7-20 days during the growing season (approximately March to October), but keep dry in winter.

Not hardy, but can tolerate temperatures down to 5°C if kept well-drained.

Bare-rooted plant with a single or slightly branched stem.
