Succulent species. Leaves narrow and long, stiff, semi-cylindrical, falcate, glaucous, ending in a pointed and very prickly spine. The adult plant tends to form a hemispherical rosette. Native to desert and sub-desert areas of central and northeastern Mexico. It prefers a position in full sun or partial shade and well-drained soil. Water every 15-20 days in the summer, but stay dry in the winter. Hardy up to -8°C. Bare root plant.
