Semi-evergreen bulbous species. Globose bulb, semi-buried. Ribbon-like leaves up to 30 cm long by 3-5.4 cm wide. Floral stem up to 25 cm long carrying up to 4 funnel-shaped flowers up to 12 cm long by 11 cm in diameter. The flowers are white with red tepal tips and a yellowish base. Endemic species of a restricted area of the department of La Paz in Bolivia. In nature it grows on cliffs, rock faces and rocks covered by vegetation. Requires well-drained soil and a shady or partial shade location. Not rustic. Bare root plant.
