This is a pink-flowered cultivar of Cyrtanthus mackenii that in nature has white or yellow flowers. Bulbous species with ribbon-like leaves about 30 cm long, evergreen. Flowering scapes bearing numerous tubular flowers up to 5 cm long of pale pink color. The abundant and long-lasting flowering occurs twice a year: in early spring and in autumn. The type species is native to South Africa (KwaZulu-Natal). It adapts to almost all types of soil but does not tolerate waterlogged soil. Sunny or semi-shaded position and regular watering during the summer. Hardy species, it tolerates frost and winter humidity well although, in the case of particularly intense frosts, the leaves may burn and then sprout again in spring.
