Slow-growing succulent species up to 15 cm tall. Leathery, triangular leaves, up to 4 cm long and 2 cm wide, almost black in colour. The leaves are arranged in three rows to form a spiral structure and are dotted with flattened tunercles. Native species of the Karoo desert (South Africa) where it grows very well hidden under the bushes, semi-submerged in the sand or sometimes in full sun between the stones. It therefore requires very well-drained soil and a position in partial shade. Water every 10-15 days in summer but leave dry in winter. Half hardy. 1 bare root little plant.
