One of our most unique hybrids.
It is an interspecific hybrid between Stapelia scitula and Boucerosia frerei (Frerea indica), characterized by clumping, erect stems up to 20 cm long, bearing small, ovate-lanceolate, early deciduous leaves. The flowers are star-shaped, 3-4 cm in diameter, semi-apical, with a yellow background interspersed with numerous concentric red bands, slightly pubescent. This plant forms very compact but rather slow-growing clumps. It is, in effect, an almost impossible hybrid!
It requires very well-drained soil and a location in partial shade. Water once every 7-10 days from April to October, but leave dry in winter. Not hardy.
Unrooted cutting or bare-root plant.
