A stoloniferous succulent species. This species is characterized by rather leathery, slightly outward-slanting leaves, up to 1 m long and 2.5-6 cm wide, dark green with pale green bands. The leaves arise from robust underground rhizomes and are arranged in rosettes. From the center of the rosettes arise long inflorescences consisting of numerous whitish flowers that open at dusk. Native to semi-arid areas of Mozambique, it requires very well-drained soil and a shaded location. Water once every 10-20 days during the growing season (approximately March to October), but leave dry in winter or at most once a month if the environment is very hot. It also adapts well to living indoors. Not hardy. Bare-root plant or potted plant.
