Allium suaveolens

Bulbous, tufted species, deciduous in winter. Elongated, cylindrical bulb, wrapped in greyish fibrous tunics. Ribbon-like leaves up to 40 cm long. The floral scapes, 30-60 cm long, develop between the end of summer and autumn and end in a dense globular umbel made up of 15-45 star-shaped white flowers with green ovary and red anthers. A native species of southern and central Europe, it is also spontaneous in Italy and grows in meadows and humid places, in hilly or mountainous areas. Hardy. It likes well-drained soil and a sunny or semi-shaded position. 14 cm pot plant.
