Begonia tengchiana PB 07-1110

Rhizomatous species with thin rhizomes. Long petiolate leaves, with 9-25 x 7-18 cm suborbicular blade, denticulate on the margin and acute apex. Ramified inflorescence bearing 2-5 flowers of 2 cm in diameter with 4-6 pastel pink petals. Native to Taiwan where it grows in mountain forests between 1500 and 1800 m. It prefers a shady location and humus-rich but slightly drained soil. Regular watering in summer but less watering in winter. Not hardy. Newly rooted plant in 8 cm pot.
