Kohleria warszewiczii (Kohleria digitaliflora)

Evergreen rhizomatous species. Rhizomes subterranean, rosy. Stems erect, hairy, up to 60 cm long, evergreen. Large, ovate, soft and velvety leaves, cerulean-green in colour. Flowers in dense apical inflorescences, pendulous, pubescent, with pink corolla tube and green lobes dotted with purple. It flowers in late winter and sometimes in late summer as well. Well drained soil, shaded position and regular watering, slightly reduced in winter. Not hardy. Species native to Colombia where it grows in mountain forests. Plant in a 16 cm pot.
