Achimenes skinneri

Rhizomatous species deciduous in winter. Stems up to 90 cm tall, pubescent. Leaves ovate, 8 x 6 cm, toothed on the margin. Axillary and apical flowers, about 3 cm in diameter, light purple in color with central red and yellow spots and yellow throat. Native species of Mexico where it grows in the undergrowth of humid forests. It prefers slightly drained soil and a shady location. Regular and abundant watering in summer but scarce in winter (once a month). Not hary. 14 cm potted plant.
