Kohleria x hybrida

A winter semi-deciduous rhizomatous species.

Erect stems, up to 50 cm long, pubescent, then tending to droop. Leaves are ovate, toothed along the margins, completely green and pubescent. The flowers, produced in large quantities during the summer, are tubular, semi-pendulous, and deep red in color with a dark red spotted labellum.

Given its similarity to Kohleria amabilis, it is believed to be a own hybrid.

The plant requires well-drained soil and a location in partial shade. Water regularly in summer, less frequently in winter.

Not hardy.

Plant in a 16 cm pot or 6 rhizomes.
