Tectiris tectorum (Iris tectorum)

Rhizomatous species native to central and southwestern China. Ensiform leaves up to 30 cm long by 2-2.5 cm wide. Floral scapes bearing 2-3 flowers with a diameter of 10 cm with blue-lilac tepals with darker veins. Flowering occurs between April and May. Very hardy, in nature it grows on rocky cliffs, at the edges of forests, under shrubs, on grassy slopes and even in wet meadows, both in the sun and in the shade, up to 3500 m. The name refers to the fact that it can often be seen growing on the roofs of houses. Hardy. 10 cm potted plant.
