Bulbous species in summer rest. Spheroidal bulb with a diameter of 6-8 cm. Linear leaves 20-60 cm long by 1-2 cm wide, glossy, deciduous in summer. Floral stem 15-40 cm long ending in a conoidal inflorescence made up of dozens of small blue flowers with 5 tepals which open in succession. It has no particular soil requirements, as long as it is not constantly humid and needs a position in full sun or partial shade. Do not water in summer. The plant goes into vegetative rest in the summer, losing all its leaves and begins to vegetate again after the first rains in late summer-early autumn. Flowering occurs in spring. This species grows along the coasts of the Mediterranean basin, preferring arid areas and woodlands. Hardy. 1 bulb with a diameter of 3-4 cm.
