Sansevieria canaliculata (Dracena canaliculata)

Succulent species with underground creeping rhizomes.

Cylindrical leaves up to 60 cm long and only 2 cm in diameter, so they tend to flex slightly. The leaves are uniform green in color with smooth epidermis and are crossed by a narrow longitudinal channel, from the tip to the base. Spike-like inflorescence, to 20 cm long, developing directly from the rhizome. White flowers in small clusters.

Native species of Easterm Africa where it grows in arid areas, oftena under schrubs.

It requires a shady or semi-shaded location and well-drained soil. Water every 10-15 days in summer, never in summer.
