Succulent species with underground stolons.

Stems with a circular section, finely tessellated, similar to those of an Echidnopsis, of about 1 cm of diameter and 5-7 cm long. Bell-shaped flowers, 2-3 cm in diameter, with a whitish background finely marbled with red and covered by numerous papillae in relief.

Native species of the Cape Province in South Africa (Uhitenhage district) where it usually grows in situations of full exposure on small slopes formed by loose stones of conglomerate origin and pebbles detached from the surrounding conglomerate cliffs. In nature it is known for only two localities, therefore very rare.

Not hardy.

Bare root plant with one or more stems.
